Singing Our Birthday Song…

Earrings | Chunky Coat | Maxi Dress | Chiffon Scarf | Boots

I am happy to say I’ve just finished one, and begun another trip around the sun. My celebration included all of my favorite things, including listening to live music at a hidden gem of a club  and wearing an outfit that had me feeling like a 70’s rocker chick. I enjoyed some of my favorite foods, like homemade french onion soup and football-chuterie (which is really just charcuterie eaten during the NFL playoffs), spoke with the peeps I love most in this world, and even carved out time to swim, read, watch a movie, and dream about what I might accomplish in the year ahead…To help me turn those dreams into reality I am working on creating a vision board.  Right after the new year, I listened to two unrelated podcasts and both mentioned vision boards as a manifestation tool.  Those conversations intrigued me, since I have been thinking for some time about how to direct my creativity.  Maybe a board will be the answer.  I remember making memory books when I was young, full of adolescent poetry, drawings, and pictures cut form magazines.  I figure if I could spend hours as a child making memory books, I can definitely spend some time making a tool if it will help me realize some of my goals for the year ahead. While I haven’t finished my board yet, the first images I added had to do with the constants in my life.  Music, books (see some of my past and future reads here and here), travel (with visits to California, Florida, France, North Carolina, and Ohio in the planning stages), and art (as in making – see some of the ideas I am working on here) all figure prominently. I am also including the number 9.Why 9?  I am a 9 and 2025 is the year of 9, at least according to numerology, which seems like an auspicious, serendipitous coincidence to me.  9 represents the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another.  A 9 sees life in infinite shades of grey – exactly how this Grey Goddess views the world!  And then there is the Chinese Lunar New Year, which began yesterday, with the Year of the Snake.  A snake is probably a 9 too, serving as a symbol of wisdom, transformation, personal growth and change.  With so many mystical things all pointing in the same direction, my vision board 9 will remind me that realizing any of my dreams could results in auspicious changes too! What about you? Are you a fan of vision boards? Have you ever created a board?  If so, did it help you manifest your goals? Any advice for me as I continue to work on my on board?  Drop me a line…I’d love to know.
